PQT
Automatic Qualifying Total (AQT): Any athlete who posts the AQT in an Approved MNHSWO season meet qualifies to compete in the posted class at the State meet. They may choose to lift in a higer class provided they have the AQT for that class. They may not move down a class unless they have competed and qualified in that class
Provisional Qualifying Total (PQT): Provided there are not 3 athletes with an AQT in a class, a PQT will qualify an athlete to fill out that class to 3 (up to 3 PQT athletes may qualify). After the Last Chance meet is contested, Athletes with a PQT will be ranked in highest to lowest order, with the earliest meet date listed higher. If 2 or more athletes post an identical PQT in separate meets on the same date, all will qualify.
Qualified by rule: When an athlete posts an AQT or PQT in multiple weight classes, they must choose which class they will compete in at the time of registration for the State Meet. If their choice leaves a class with fewer than 3, an additional athlete with a PQT will be added. This can lead to an athlete not listed in the top 3 after the Final Rankings list becoming qualified "By rule." All coaches will be notified when this occurs during registration.
Qualifed, but not competing: It is the responsibility of the athlete and coach to notify the State Meet Director and MNHSWO if they do not intend to compete at the State Meet for any reason. Please make sure this occurs before registration ends. All efforts will be made to ensure All weight classes have at least 3 athletes provided they have a PQT. A qualified athlete may not "give" their spot to another athlete.
Any posted total in an Approved MNHSWO season meet will be listed on the rankings list, generally compiled and posted monthly.
